An entire van of RTX 30 graphics cards stolen from EVGA: the most expensive is $ 1960

Yesterday, November 3, on the official EVGA forum, Jake Freeman, the head of the marketing company, officially published a rather unusual announcement – he announced that an entire van of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 series video cards had been stolen from the manufacturer. Unfortunately, a company representative decided not to to disclose the total damage from this incident, and there is also no information about how many video cards were in the party stolen by the attackers. The official message indicates only that the retail price of these models starts at $ 330, and the top-end video card costs $ 1960.

It should be noted that the theft did not take place at the manufacturer’s warehouse, but in the process of transporting graphics accelerators to a distribution center in the state of California. The exact data, of course, were not published on the forum, but there is a high probability that the attackers were inspired by the movie “Fast and the Furious” – they also stole electronics from the truck on the go. However, the manufacturer does not plan to just come to terms with the loss of a whole batch of such valuable video cards now – a statement has already been submitted to the police. Moreover, EVGA said they have all the data on which models of video cards were stolen and with which serial number.

Accordingly, these video cards will not be able to receive warranty service, and an attempt to return a stolen EVGA video card for repair will be accompanied by a call to the police to testify about where the owner took this device. EVGA recalled that selling, transferring, buying and receiving for use of stolen property is also a criminal offense. Because of this, Freeman advised that when buying a video card in the aftermarket, require from the buyer not only a purchase receipt, which is easy to fake, but also the serial number of the video card – this can be entered on the EVGA Warranty Check page to check if it is stolen or officially bought. …
