Among the treasures that nature gives us every day there are also perfect allies for the care and beauty of our hair. Among these, ingredients capable of enhancing the reflections of our hair, and at the same time reinforce the stem thanks to the action of powerful active ingredients. “Let’s start by saying that most of the officinal dyeing plants have a more evident action on dark hair than light hair, but if you want to get a” sun effect “you can create effective recipes”, they explain. Roberta and Francesca Forte, owners of the historic company Campo dei Fiori herbalist in Milan.
Powder mix
«A first solution could be a pre-shampoo pack based on cassia obovata, classic officinal rhubarb and matricaria chamomile to which I recommend adding the most powerful natural color, namely lawsonia (neutral henna). The latter, combined with the aforementioned powders, will help me get a nice lightening highlighting the natural reflections. This mix also has a strengthening effect because the active ingredients contained in the powders enter deeply making the hair thicker and fuller. It is perfect for thinner, dehydrated hair and also for split ends. It also shines a lot ».
Honey and turmeric
«Another very effective solution for a lightening effect is the mixture of honey and turmeric. The recommended doses vary according to the length of the hair, but in general a teaspoon or tablespoon of turmeric corresponds to a double dose of honey, and therefore 2 teaspoons or 2 tablespoons. Once the ingredients have been mixed, apply to damp hair, wrap with cling film and leave on for 15/20 minutes. Then proceed with the shampoo. The only thing to take into consideration is that turmeric basically gives it the yellow color. So it is good to do a test on a lock of hair first, especially if these are treated, to see the result. Being completely plant extracts, the result varies according to the type of hair and the color of the reflections. It is not universal ».
Lemon oil and hair oils
«Lemon essential oil is a natural lightener of connective tissue in general (and therefore skin, nails, hair). Added to a hair oil such as linseed oil or coconut oil rich in omega 3 and omega 6 can create an interesting hair pack. Leave it on for a couple of hours and then rinse. The only recommendation is to remember to apply a good one mask or conditioner afterwards because lemon, although it is exceptional as a lightening effect and as a supplier of minerals and vitamin C, tends to acidify a little and therefore could dry the hair a little ».
