An international team of scientists led by astronomer Avi Loeb has presented a project called the Galileo Project, the goal of which is to search for evidence of the existence of technologies created by extraterrestrial civilizations. The highlight is that scientists intend to look for this evidence, including on Earth.

As part of the project, scientists intend to create a global network consisting of small telescopes and cameras and based on artificial intelligence. This network will be involved, among other things, in the search for UFOs through constant observation of the sky.
In general, the project has three main directions:
- Obtaining high-quality images of UFOs with high resolution to be able to determine their nature
- Search and in-depth study of interstellar objects like Oumuamua
- Finding potential alien probes 1m or less that can explore Earth
The data that scientists will collect as part of the project will be publicly available and published in peer-reviewed journals.

Now the project has $ 1.8 million raised through private investment, but Loeb expects to increase the budget 10 times.
Loeb also focuses on the recently released Pentagon UFO report, which revealed 144 unidentified sightings from 2004 to 2021. The document itself does not contain any conclusions regarding the relationship of the observed objects to extraterrestrial civilizations, however, the Pentagon experts in the end were unable to determine the nature of all these objects.
