An Italian airport was given to a Russian oligarch via Cyprus

A serious issue of national security with the scent of Cyprus was recently raised in the sphere of public debate in Italy, according to philenews.com. According to information that has come to light in the Mediterranean country, the political airport of Grosseto, which is located inside a military base, is controlled by Russian interests. Something that seems to have been achieved through a business entity registered with the Cyprus Registrar of Companies.

All the above-mentioned data are presented by the journalistic team of the PAI3 TV show, “Report”. The show raises questions about the security of the country, since from the airport of Grosseto, which is controlled by a well-known Russian oligarch, flights of the political company are performed, while its air channels are used by the Italian air force. As the journalist Julio Valesini characteristically states, “military eurofighters take off from Grosseto airport for reconnaissance aimed at the defense of our airspace”.

As we have noted, the path of journalistic research leads to Cyprus and specifically to a company, which has its headquarters in a well-known building in the center of Nicosia. Where the journalists of the Italian state television were also found. We quote the data in the chronological order presented in the relevant report:

-The civil airport that appears to be adjacent to a military base, belongs to SEAM, a semi-public company.

– The private company Ilca has 35% of the shares of SEAM. This is the largest shareholding, which makes Ilca officials able to control the decisions of the SEAM board.

– In turn, Ilca seems to be controlled by the AEON of the well-known Russian billionaire Roman Trotshenko.

– The shares of AEON, however, belong to the Cypriot PLUTOWORLD LIMITED, which is managed by a Cypriot citizen of Armenian origin. It should also be noted that the company registered in Cyprus is based in the center of Nicosia, in a well-known building where corporate giants are also registered.

– Finally, the Italians report that after their research they concluded that “the shares of Grosseto airport are not in the name of Roman Trotschenko, but of his wife Sofia, who deals with art and museums”.

The report of the Italian journalists presents their visit to the office premises of Plutoworld, but also their attempt to receive answers from a company official. The latter politely refused, stating that he had no authorization.

Roman Trotschenko is also said to be in control of 14 airports in key Russian regions. His fortune is estimated at two billion euros. In 2018 it was included in the US sanctions list.
