An Italian fishing boat was shot down by Turkish fishermen off Syria

The news of the embolism of a Italian fishing gear from Turkish fish shops off Syria, La Repubblica reported. The Rome newspaper adds that the crew of the Italian boat was trying to catch red shrimp and that it was located northeast of Cyprus.

The specific fishmonger, “Michele Giacalone”, had started from Madzara Netl Valo in Sicily and after being attacked with stones, was shot by the Turkish ship.

According to the APE-MPE response, “Jacalone” was also attacked on May 3, off Benghazi (Libya). An Italian Navy helicopter is heading to the scene.
