An NFT from the Bored Ape Yacht Club collection was mistakenly sold for $115

An NFT owner from the Bored Ape Yacht Club collection mistakenly sold a token worth over $350,000 for $115. He sold the Mutant Ape token just as cheaply.

The owner of the BAYC 835 token under the pseudonym cchan sold it for 115 DAI stablecoins ($115). At the same time, 8 months ago, he bought NFT for 16 ETH (about $50,000), and now the token should cost more than 100 ETH. Also, cchan sold the Mutant Ape 11670 token to the same buyer for 25 DAI, while its value is at least 22.6 ETH.

Most likely, in this case we are talking about a mistake due to inattention. Apparently, cchan saw that a buyer under the pseudonym 4ED9AA placed orders for 115 and 25 DAI, respectively, but seems to have confused DAI and ETH. The wallet was supposed to display a warning about using DAI, but apparently cchain ignored this warning.

The Block journalists were able to contact the seller. He himself is trying to understand what happened and notes that he uses all the precautions when working with his wallets, so “it was hardly a hack.” Judging by the buyer’s wallet, he constantly bets in DAI on the OpenSea platform in the hope that someone will mix up DAI and ETH and sell their NFTs for next to nothing.

Recall that in mid-December last year, another owner of the BAYC token sold his NFT for 0.75 ETH instead of 75 ETH.
