Ana de Armas cries after “Blonde” gets a 14-minute ovation in Venice

Ana de Armas was thrilled with the premiere of her biopic of Marilyn Monroe “Blonde”, in Venice Film Festival .

The film received a standing ovation for 14 minutes this Thursday (9) where Ana De Armas was seen wiping tears from her face and hugging her co-star, Adrien Brody .

The actress plays Monroe in the film, which was adapted from the novel of the same name by Joyce Carol Oates. Brody plays her third husband, Arthur Miller.

Brody previously praised his performance at the film’s press conference, saying that De Armas managed to transport him “to another time and place”.

De Armas told the UK’s Sunday Times that the role required a lot of preparation.

“It took me nine months of dialect training, practice, and a few additional dialogue replacement sessions. [para aperfeiçoar o sotaque]. It was such a torture, so exhausting. My brain was fried,” she told the channel.

Brad Pitt, the film’s producer, also attended the premiere.

In an interview with reporters during the festival, she stated that Marilyn Monroe participated in some way in the production. “I really believe she was very close to us. She was with us.”

“Blonde” arrives on Netflix on September 28.
