Anac prohibits Itapemirim from resuming ticket sales after abrupt suspension

Anac (National Civil Aviation Agency) prohibited the airline ITA, of the Itapemirim Group, from resuming the sale of airline tickets, after an abrupt suspension of flights announced by the company at the end of last year, which left more than 45 thousand passengers without attendance.

The decision came through a precautionary measure issued this Friday (7).

According to the regulatory agency, the suspension is valid until the company takes corrective actions, such as re-accommodating passengers, fully refunding the airline ticket to consumers who opted for this alternative and responding to passengers on all complaints registered on the Consumidor.gov.br platform.

Regarding the re-accommodation of passengers, Anac also says that the company must prove the offer of re-accommodation alternatives on the flight of other companies, of carrying out the service by another mode of transport or full refund, for the consumer’s choice.

“The company must also demonstrate the realization of any other refunds due to the consumer as a result of breach of contract verified since the beginning of the sale of airline tickets”, he says in a note.

The Itapemirim Group announced the temporary suspension of its operations on December 17, for an internal restructuring.
