American manufacturer of analog, digital and mixed signal processing chips Analog Devices has received unconditional EU antitrust clearance to acquire its competitor Maxim Integrated for $ 21 billion. This was announced today by the European Commission.
The deal, which is the largest in the history of the market, was announced last July.

Through the acquisition, Analog Devices seeks to expand its presence in the automotive electronics and 5G network equipment market. The deal is also expected to allow Analog Devices to compete better against larger competitors, including Texas Instruments.
