Analysis Group: The Asia-Pacific region will earn the most from the metaverses

Analysis Group specialists studied the geography of the metaverse market development and came to the conclusion that in 10 years 58 countries of the Pacific basin will earn more on virtual reality.

consulting company analyst placed report “Potential global economic impact of the metaverse”, from which it follows: if the intensive development of this type of virtual reality begins in 2022, then in ten years it will bring more than $ 3 trillion to the world economy (more than 2% of world GDP).

The authors of the report, Analysis Group director Laurits Christensen and manager Alex Robinson, believe that growth will only occur if the industry reaches great potential. Namely, “far-reaching applications that can transform a wide range of economic sectors such as education, healthcare, manufacturing, vocational training, communications, entertainment and retail.”

According to the study, the Asia-Pacific region will be able to earn the most on the metaverse and related projects – $ 1.04 trillion, which will give the region an plus 2.3% of GDP. In second place is the United States with $560 billion and 2.3% of GDP. In third place is Europe with $440 billion and 1.7% of GDP. The largest GDP growth will be experienced by the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey: 6.2% and $360 billion in monetary terms.

According to the report, metaverses and related activities could account for 5% of Latin America’s GDP, bringing in $320 billion to the region’s economy. Latin America’s growth will be the largest in percentage terms, while Asia Pacific will be the largest in volume .

In April, Citibank released a report stating the huge potential of the concept of augmented reality and predicting that the market capitalization of the metaverse will reach $13 trillion by 2030.
