At the meeting, o President Anastasiadis stressed, once again, the position of the Greek Cypriot side that the presence of the EU as an observer at the conference on Cyprus is in the interest of the whole of Cyprus as an EU member state, in the light of the latest statements of the Turkish government, on the positive agenda it seeks to have with the EU.

In a written statement, government spokesman Kyriakos Kousios said that on her part, Ms. Lut informed Mr. Anastasiadis that she would have a meeting later today with the Turkish Cypriot leader, Ersin Tatar, and would then go to Athens for contacts. .

Finally, Ms Luth said she would also have contacts with the British Foreign Office.

Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio in Nicosia on Tuesday

Messrs. Christodoulidis and Di Maio They are expected to review the full range of Cyprus-Italy bilateral relations, looking at concrete ways to further strengthen them in a number of areas, including trade and investment.
