Chairman of the State Duma Committee on the financial market at the RBC forum “Crypto. Cryptocurrencies, Mining and Digital Assets” announced that digital assets will be definitely legalized in the new year.
Anatoly Aksakov emphasized that the authorities do not plan to allow the use of cryptocurrencies as a means of making payments within the country. But such payments will be available to pay for supplies and services of foreign partners.
“I can assure everyone that crypto as a legal product will definitely appear in our country next year, there will definitely be legislation. I hope that the deputies will support, and the president will sign. Because the conciliation procedures have already been adjusted. Next year, the crypt will be in the legal field, I can only say unequivocally that it cannot be used in the Russian Federation as a means of payment for internal settlements, ”the parliamentarian promised.
The MP noted that some companies are already using cryptocurrencies to pay for foreign deliveries. But the government wants to bring such international payments, according to Aksakov, a legal basis. A separate issue will be the taxation of goods purchased for cryptocurrencies.
It was assumed that the relevant law would be adopted before the end of 2022, however, time is taken away by coordination and discussion.
“Unfortunately, not everything is going as fast as I would like. We expected to move everything faster, but there are conciliation procedures that we cannot step over. We hope that these procedures will be completed in the near future,” said the chairman of the committee.
Earlier, the legal department of the State Duma noted shortcomings and contradictions in the bill on the regulation of cryptocurrencies and mining, which is being promoted by Anatoly Aksakov.
