Aksakov cited the relevant data in an interview with TASS agency before the start of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (PMEF). At the same time, he once again emphasized that at the moment the government’s position remains the same – cryptocurrencies can help in trade with other countries, but within Russia such calculations should be prohibited.
“We are hard in position that cryptocurrencies can only be used for external calculations. We legalized this option as part of an experimental legal regime. Cryptocurrencies are purchased in the domestic market, including acquisition at the auction on the exchange, on sites. But at the same time, cryptocurrency should be used only for foreign trade transactions, for example, in the supply of goods to Russia, ”Aksakov noted.
Earlier, the deputy director of the Department of Financial Policy of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation Osman Kabaloev called crypto regulation in the Russian Federation one of the most liberal in the world.
