Anavitória and Lagum release two songs and talk about inspirations for the 1st partnership

There are those who believe in the power of equal numbers and energetic portals. This is the case of the duo Ana Vitoria and the band lagoon , who chose this Friday, the 11th of the 11th, at 11:11 am, to launch their first partnership. The artists teamed up for not just one, but two tracks: “Universe of Things I Don’t Know” and “MAILBOX” 🇧🇷

With different melodies and opposing lyrics, the songs complement each other. “After the songs are ready, we understand that we are counting the beginning, middle and end of a relationship,” he said. Falcão victory 🇧🇷

In an interview with CNN 🇧🇷 Ana Vitoria and lagoon revealed the stories behind the two songs and where the inspiration for the music videos came from.

MAILBOX

It all started when Pedro Calais and Ana Caetano approached during the recording of a Disney series. The vocalist of Lagum already had the song almost ready, the result of the guitarist’s mind Zani and amidst the many exchanges during the intense days of set with Ana, he showed her the production.

“A piece of the song was missing and when he showed it to me, we even sang the missing melody part together. I wrote the rest, just to finish off, and sent it to them”, said Ana. “When I sent it, I thought they hated it because Pedro never answered me,” she said with a laugh.

According to the singer, when she showed it to her duo, Vitória “freaked out” in the production. “We had the idea of recording this song in partnership with the boys, but we didn’t want to record just one together. Then came the search for that second song.”

Universe of things I don’t know

After the first song was ready, the challenge was to create a new track.

“I arrived at Ana’s house with the computer under my arm, we put it on the table and started throwing ideas around. All the ideas sounded really bad. We would go one way, cancel, go another, go back to the old one, until Ana said ‘look, I wrote something here’”, said Pedro.

“You explain to me your theory that we repeat lives and lives here in the world and I believe in you”, the phrase that begins the song was the first to be created, and it was what Ana showed the singer.

It’s about a conversation they had months before about a theory that the singer of lagoon believe. “When she showed me that part it was really cool because I saw that she was talking about me and then I started talking about her too, about some really deep and real conversations we had, secrets we shared,” he told the magazine. CNN 🇧🇷

In the track, there is talk of a “same place” and Pedro revealed that it is a reference to a moment he called “iconic”: “We, at five in the morning, drinking wine on the street of her house”. He also stated that although the song is commercially about a couple, the song is about the friendship he and Ana formed in the last year.

video clips

The narrative of the video clips takes advantage of the characters of the series “It’s All Right” which Pedro and Ana recorded last year.

The production is a romantic comedy about a young intern who yearns to be a music star. By chance, he meets a singer and songwriter who shows him another side of music and life.

The artists’ will was to release the tracks simultaneously with the series, however the Disney production still doesn’t have a premiere date.

the idea of Ana Vitoria and lagoon was to bring the fictional couple into another context, this time in a more adult setting.

“We understand that “universe” it’s the first song, where they’re in this will to live, a lot of things happen, you’re at the beginning of a relationship where you really want that. And then, in a second moment, in “MAILBOX” , we wanted to bring that horrible day, when you already know that everything is gone and you don’t see any sense in anything anymore. It wasn’t meant to be a dramatic breakup, because sometimes life isn’t that tragic. Sometimes things just end”, explained Vitória.

Partnership

Among many compliments to each other, Vitória said that “this meeting (with Lagum) brought many good sparks”.

In response, Pedro said that their union taught him a lot about communication and that he admires the sincerity that exists between the pair.

Ana commented that being together with the boys inspired her and even brought her closer to Vitória. “I came out of those days very inspired and very much admired by them.”

She revealed that she wanted a third song yet. would be a version of “I Need To Say I Love You” I told CNN, and promised that it will still happen.
