Local residents of the ancestral village of astronaut Suni Williams, India, celebrated their return to Earth in the early hours of Wednesday (19), with dances and fireworks.
Williams returned to Earth on a Spacex capsule and landed on the Florida coast on Tuesday (18), around 6:57 pm GMT, nine months after his Boeing Starliner ship presenting defects on a mission that should have lasted week.
Residents of the Jhulasan village, located in Mahesana district, in the state of Gujarat, western India, huddled near a television while watching the live broadcast of their return to land before celebrating.
Some residents said a banquet would be prepared later to continue the festivities.

You Astronauts Suni Williams, Butch Wilmore Nick Hague and cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov left the space ship Crew Dragon from Spacex, after the successful landing of the late afternoon of Tuesday (18).

After the vehicle hit the ocean, a Spacex rescue ship removed the water spacecraft and the crew could breathe the air air again.
