And here the miners are to blame? Video card makers massively abandon GeForce RTX 3090 with centrifugal fan

Now, with great demand, any model of a modern video card is a highly profitable product that it makes no sense to remove from production. But, for some reason, the manufacturers of 3D cards did exactly that with one of the variants of the flagship GeForce RTX 3090: they removed from their catalogs versions of this model, the cooling system of which uses a centrifugal fan.

So, the GeForce RTX 3090 24 GB Aero disappeared from the MSI range, although it came out only in February. The same goes for models with a similar cooling system from Asus, Emtek, Galaxy, Gigabyte and other companies. Galaxy has already confirmed that its GeForce RTX 3090 24 GB Classic model is no longer in production, and the GeForce RTX 3080 Classic with a similar cooling system has been discontinued.

And then the question arises – why remove top-end video cards from production when there is a huge demand for them? There are no official comments on this situation, but there is an assumption that instead of the GeForce RTX 3090 with centrifugal coolers, the Nvidia CMP 90HX video card will be produced for mining. Allegedly, the CMP 90HX on the GA102 GPU is similar to the RTX 3090, and the cooling system with a centrifugal fan works well for it. If so, then this is an indicative step: it has come to the point that manufacturers refuse to release game models in favor of specialized 3D cards for mining. In this case, you will readily believe that the crisis in the video card market will drag on until 2022.
