Anderson Leonardo, lead singer of the group Molejo, reveals cancer diagnosis

Singer Anderson Leonardo, lead singer of the pagode group Molejo, announced that he was diagnosed with cancer. The announcement was made through a note on the social networks of the musician himself and the band, on Thursday night (13).

“To friends, fans and contractors, we inform you that our singer Anderson Leonardo, after a battery of tests, was diagnosed with a hidden primary tumor. [câncer],” the statement said. Afterwards, it is explained that the artist is already undergoing treatment and that Grupo Molejo’s concert schedule will not be interrupted.

Despite reporting that the artist has the disease, the statement did not detail where the cancer is located.

In the post, prayers and positive energies were also asked for the 50-year-old singer, a member of the group since 1993.

After the diagnosis was announced, several celebrities and friends of Anderson spoke out in the publication.

“God blesses. Strength my friend! Strength molejão”, wrote the actress Érika Januza. “I love you so much and I’m here!”, commented the singer and presenter Netinho de Paula. “We will pray for you, everything will be fine”, reinforced the singer Buchecha.

Formed in Rio de Janeiro, Molejo began to be successful in the 1990s, with hits such as “Brincadeira de Criança”, “Cilada” and “Dança da Vassoura”.
