Android 12.1 will improve the performance of foldable smartphones for the release of Google Pixel Fold

XDA Developers has some interesting information about the next version of Android 12, which will be released under the name Android 12.1. At the moment, the full list of changes has not been reported, however, it is known that some innovations will be aimed at improving the operation of folding smartphones. It is possible that this step will be taken before the release of the first foldable Pixel phone.

The new Android 12 Developer Preview 2 beta revealed the pinned taskbar feature, as well as a few new lines of code that hint at how the taskbar will behave. This taskbar was designed for large-screen devices such as tablets, whose screens are more suitable for multitasking.

Opening the taskbar will display an animation, described as a “wave,” in which the icons scale and move up and then back down. The guide then explains how you will be able to run the two apps in split screen mode. You can hide the taskbar at any time and add your favorite applications to the taskbar. Once configured, the taskbar remains at the bottom of the screen, but automatically hides when the app goes into full screen mode.

Renowned analyst Evan Blass has confirmed that Google is preparing to launch its first Pixel smartphone, which will feature a foldable screen.
