Yesterday, July 12, developers from Google unveiled several new features that were developed for the Android 12 operating system in order to improve the gaming experience of the audience. And perhaps the most important innovation is the Play as you download feature – it allows the user to launch the game and enjoy it even before the project is fully downloaded from the Google Play digital store. Some games, for example, can be launched after reaching 18% load – a very good result, especially when it comes to some pretty heavy releases.
You can identify the game that supports the new feature by the lightning bolt icon, which is located on the “Install” button in the digital store. If there is a lightning, then the application allows you to launch it even before it is fully loaded into the smartphone’s memory. At the moment, according to the representatives of Google, 2.5 million applications already support the new function, and the number of applications, of course, will gradually expand. Additionally, the developers introduced an updated Game Dashboard, which in Android 12 looks like a set of buttons that call important functions.
For example, the user will be able to quickly take a screenshot or record a video from the screen, look at the frame rate, turn on the “Do not disturb” mode or start a stream on YouTube in just a few clicks. However, it is worth noting that the new panel will be available only on some devices, and only towards the end of the year – apparently, the system still needs to be tested.
Unfortunately, the innovations presented by Google will be available exclusively on the Android 12 operating system – you will not be allowed to play games before downloading them on older versions of the OS.
