Apparently, the company decided to completely close its application for smartphones. At the moment, Android Auto can still be used, but the message appears every time it starts. There are no details yet as to how soon it will stop working.
As an alternative, Google suggests using the Google Assistant driving mode, which will take over all the basic features of Android Auto. Thus, users have two options: to purchase a car with built-in Android Auto or use the services of an assistant. The voice assistant option includes integration with maps and various multimedia programs. The Android Auto app is likely to run on smartphones in regions where Google Assistant driving mode is not available for a while longer.
