While waiting to browse the 217 new emoticons that will arrive during 2021, Google has seen fit to release an update for its app Gboard – an alternative virtual keyboard – introducing an expansion for Emoji Kitchen: the functionality that allows us to generate new emoticons, or rather stickers, by combining the smileys available in the library of our smartphone.
Already announced during the first months of 2020, the novelty would have been appreciated by users in fact, according to what was published in the official Google blog, from the first debut of Emoji Kitchen users would have shared about 3 billion stickers to express their emotions: especially during this year in which digital communication has played a decisive role, especially if we consider that, even today, most relationships take place at a distance.
From the symbol of fire wearing sunglasses to the Earth emoji with a mask to express the ongoing global emergency, the stickers created with the generator can be used in the most common messaging and social applications such as, for example, WhatsApp , Telegram or Gmail.
At the moment, the new Emoji Kitchen is available in the beta version of Gboard and only for owners of an Android device – version 6.0 or later – while, for iOS users, we have no news about it yet. However, the update may not be immediately available to all users: according to Google, in fact, the rollout should complete for all users during the next few weeks.
