Androulakis to Mitsotakis: Immediately announce the reason for my surveillance, which you brazenly call “legitimate”

N. Androulakis asked the prime minister to immediately announce the reason for his surveillance by the EYP after the statement on the case of the surveillance, with the president of PASOK-KINAL pointing out that the prime minister “with too much audacity called it legal”.

In his statement, Mr. Androulakis emphasizes that he will not allow “Mr. Mitsotakis to trivialize a key case for the separation of powers in our country”.

In detail, Mr. Androulakis states:

“With his statement today, the Prime Minister once again appeared blameless by adopting the narrative of a “legal error” to justify a criminal act and the direct violation of the constitutional provision for parliamentary secrecy. He, moreover, openly sought to guide the developments.

It was obvious that Mr. Mitsotakis was anxious that the former Governor of the EYP would be caught in the crosshairs, while he assigned the objective political responsibility to the general secretary of the Prime Minister, Grigoris Dimitriadis, downgrading it to the level of negligence”.

For the president of PASOK to emphasize: “Since shadows are not allowed in the Republic, what shadow did you cast, Mr. Mitsotakis? The shadow of the Predator that you did not even mention? The Prime Minister methodically avoided giving explanations about the parastatal arm that had been set up. The spy “supership” Predator attempted to trap my mobile phone while a few days ago I was placed under surveillance by the EYP”.

“And if it weren’t for the official report of the special service of the European Parliament, we wouldn’t have learned anything about these dark practices,” added Mr. Androulakis while attacking the prime minister, pointing out:

“The fairy tales without a Chinese dragon about the involvement of Armenia and Ukraine in my surveillance were answered by their embassies in the most formal and humiliating way for you.

Mr. Mitsotakis, I request that the reason for my monitoring by the EYP be announced immediately, which you even call with too much audacity legal in violation of the confidentiality of my communications as an MEP and candidate for President of PASOK-Movement for Change. I will not accept any cover up. I will not allow Mr. Mitsotakis to trivialize a key case for the separation of powers in our country”.

Mr. Androulakis repeated: It is not a personal issue as I have said many times. It is a matter of democracy. It is the anxiety of every citizen to live and raise their children in an environment of justice and absolute respect for human rights. I will continue the fight so that the Justice, the Greek Parliament and the European institutions bring to light the whole truth”.

In conclusion, the president of PASOK said:

“The Prime Minister today tried to buy time. But time is counting down for him. Soon he will be faced with the truth.

I call on every Greek woman and every Greek man, every democrat, to defend the orderly functioning of the state against those who made constitutional freedoms a rag paper by exposing our country internationally”.
