The National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) approved this Wednesday (16) an average annual adjustment of 5.68% for the energy distributor CEEE, which serves 1.84 million consumers in Rio Grande do Sul.
The readjustment, which takes effect on November 22, will have different effects by consumer class. Those connected to low voltage will see a tariff increase of 4.19%, and for residential consumers, the increase is 3.62%. Consumers connected to high voltage will have an impact of 9.53%.
According to Aneel, the items that most impacted the readjustment were sectoral charges and costs with the purchase and transport of energy.
An important measure to mitigate the high tariff was the transfer, to consumers, of tax credits related to the exclusion of ICMS from the PIS/Pasep and Cofins calculation base, said Aneel. In the case of CEEE, this measure made it possible to reverse, in favor of consumers, around R$ 336 million, reducing the tariff adjustment by 8.44%.
The regulator also highlighted the mitigating effect of the contribution made by Eletrobras to the Energy Development Account (CDE) due to the privatization of the company. This measure contributed to a reduction of 2.92% in the annual readjustment of the CEEE.
The distributor from Rio Grande do Sul was privatized last year and is now controlled by the Equatorial Energia group.
