The National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) approved this Tuesday (19) an average readjustment of 20.36% for the tariffs of Companhia Energética do Rio Grande do Norte, Cosern.
The company serves approximately 1.5 million consumer units in 167 municipalities.
For consumers served at low voltage, such as industries, the average effect will be 19.75%. For those connected to low voltage, a group that includes residential, the average increase will be 20.55%.
The new values take effect on April 22.
The measures applied by the agency to mitigate the adjustment attenuated the average effect by -12.20%.
Among them are the use of PIS and Cofins tax credits, with an average impact of -5.80%, and the loan granted due to the water crisis, with an effect of -4.55%.
During the analysis, director Hélvio Neves Guerra stated that, although they are not low, the readjustments approved by the agency are “reasonable” in view of the effects caused by the pandemic, by the water crisis, which led to the use of more thermal plants, the increase in the price of gas on the international market and the conflict in Ukraine.
