Aneel approves average tariff readjustment of 7.22% for distributor in Goiás in 2022

The National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) approved this Tuesday (18) an average annual adjustment of 7.22% for the energy distributor that serves 3.26 million consumers in Goiás.

The adjustment, which takes effect on October 22, will have different effects by consumer classes.

Those connected to low voltage will see a tariff increase of 5.81%, while consumers connected to high voltage will have an impact of 10.84%.

According to Aneel’s calculations, the high tariff was driven mainly by an increase in sector charges.

Tariff mitigation measures, such as the return of tax credits to consumers, reduced the bill by 13.3 percentage points.

The distributor from Goiás, which is among the worst in providing services in the country, was recently sold by the Italian group Enel to Equatorial Energia.

Last week, Aneel concluded that the concessionaire failed to comply with two minimum criteria established in its concession contract for the year 2021.
