The board of the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) approved this Tuesday (25) the public notice for the 2022 A-1 and A-2 auctions, aimed at contracting energy from existing plants with start of supply in 2023 and 2024 .
The contests are scheduled to take place on December 2nd.
Auction contracts will be negotiated by quantity of electricity, for energy from any source.
Procurement will take place between January 1, 2023 and December 31, 2024 for the A-1 auction.
As for the A-2 auction, it will be between January 1, 2024 and December 31, 2025.
According to the agency, the rules for the auctions are similar to the models adopted in recent tenders for contracting new energy.
During the public consultation, the agency adopted some of the suggested changes. Among them, an adjustment in the wording to clarify situations in which companies are prohibited from participating in the auction.
There was also a suggestion to change the section dealing with the return of the bid guarantee, so that, in the event of revocation or cancellation of the auction, it would take place within ten working days.
The proposal was partially approved, to state that the auction guarantees will be available for withdrawal within up to five business days.
