Recently nominated for an Oscar for playing Queen Ramonda in “Black Panther”, actress and singer Angela Bassett was confirmed as one of the guests of honor at the “Liberatum Brasil” Festival, which takes place between the 3rd and 5th of November, in Salvador , Bahia.
In addition to the star, names such as Viola Davis and Morgan Freeman have already been announced by the organizers of the multidisciplinary event that exalts and celebrates the cultural contribution of global black change agents and visionaries.
Among the Brazilian powers that will also be present at the festival, highlights include Lázaro Ramos, Taís Araújo, Iza, Alcione, Majur and Nina Silva.
Cultural heart of Brazil
Considered the cultural heart of the country, Salvador has the largest Afro-descendant population in the world outside the African continent. In fact, more than 80% of its population is of African origin.
In its Brazilian edition, “Liberatum” promises an extraordinary cultural moment, with an inspiring multidisciplinary program to defend equality and diversity with a special focus on black culture.
