Angus Cloud, mother’s moving social letter

“When we hugged goodnight we said how much we loved each other and he told me we’d see each other the next morning.” Angus Cloud’s mom, Lisa Cloud McLaughlindedicated a post to the disappearance of his son at the age of 25, which took place on July 31st, to clarify his point of view on his death.

A clarification that arises above all from the hypothesis put forward by various users on social networks that “his death was intentional”. And on this point the mother seems to leave no room for doubt: “we may discover that you overdosed in a tragic accident, but it is abundantly clear that you did not intend to leave this world”.

A certainty, his, which also derives from the joy shown by Angus Cloud on his last day. The actor was staying at the family home in Oakland, California. The last week had certainly not been easy for him and his family: “although my son was suffering a lot from the premature death of his father from mesothelioma, his last day was happy”.

The mother describes some moments of that last day before the fatal tragedy talking about her son almost as if he were a teenager when she refers to the fact that he had dedicated time to rearranging his bedroom, placing his things around the house because according to her he would have stayed there for a while.

The mother also refers to economic issues by writing that Angus Cloud wanted to “provide for his sister’s college education, and he helped his mother emotionally and financially”.

After saying goodnight, he continues in the post, something happened that cannot be explained: «I don’t know if and if what he put into his body after that moment. All I know is that he put his head down on the desk where he was working on an art project, he fell asleep and never woke up.’

Lisa Cloud Mclaughlin then recalls the love given and received by her son by those who loved him: «his work in Euphoria became a lightning rod for his generation and started a debate on compassion, loyalty, acceptance and Love”.

He also mentions an incident that 10 years earlier involved his son: as told by Cloud Angus himself in an interview with variety, his mother would have saved his life after falling into a ditch dug for construction work. A fall that would have resulted in a head injury and a slight brain injury rendered harmless only thanks to an emergency operation that left a conspicuous scar on his head. Here, Cloud after the fall, not seeing any major injuries, would not have gone to the hospital, while his mother insisted on taking him there. In reference to that episode she writes: «he was given 10 years which he filled with creativity and love».

Lisa Cloud Mclaughlin admits that for her it is a period in which everything falls apart but nevertheless invites those who read her words to honor the memory of her son by introducing “random acts of kindness into your daily life”.
