O Anime Friends the largest Asian pop culture festival in Latin America, starts this Thursday (18) and runs until Sunday (21), at the Anhembi Exhibition Pavilion, in São Paulo.
The four-day event features international and national shows, panels with Japanese and Brazilian voice actors, actors, anime screenings and cosplay contests.
Even actor and voice actor Vincent Martella, best known for playing Greg in “Everybody Hates Chris”, but who also voiced cartoon characters such as Phineas from “Phineas and Ferb”, will be present at the festival.
Shows
For the first time in Brazil, artists from the Bandai Namco label — with songs in several series and anime — will perform at Anime Friends.
International acts include ALI – Alien Liberty International, ClariS, Sayaka Sasaki, nano.RIPE and more. In addition, the event also features performances by Brazilian artists specializing in anime rap.
Voice actors
Anime Friends also brings to Brazil several anime voice actors in their original language. This year, the highlight goes to Japanese Yuki Kanji, who voices Eren from “Attack on Titan”, Meliodas from “The Seven Deadly Sins” and Shoto Todoroki from “My Hero Academia”.
Brazilian voice actors are also present, with a panel that promotes a reunion of the voices of “Naruto” in Brazil — Úrsula Bezerra (Naruto), Robson Kumode (Sasuke) and Tati Keplmair (Sakura).
More than ten of the Brazilian voice actors from “One Piece” will also be at the event, spread across different panels.
