Animoca Brands Invests $1.5 Billion in 340 Cryptocurrency and Blockchain Games

Hong Kong-based crypto gaming and digital entertainment publisher Animoca Brands has released its financial report for the first three months of 2021 and the first four months of 2022.

According to reportas of April 30, the company has invested more than $1.5 billion in more than 340 projects, including Axie Infinity, Dapper Labs, Yield Guild Games, OpenSea, Alien Worlds, Harmony.

In January, the company was valued at more than $5 billion after the latest funding round, in which Liberty City Ventures was the largest participant. According to the Animoca report, over the past seven months, the company has earned about $720 million from token sales, including resale and other blockchain-related activities. The company currently holds about $210 million in digital currencies such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), USDC and others.

The company’s other, unlisted digital assets as of April 30 are about $659 million. The report also says about other reserves of digital assets in the amount of about $4.2 billion, which are not reflected in the balance sheet. Reserves include Animoca Brands SAND, PRIMATE, GMEE, QUIDD and more.

In addition to portfolio and partnership income, the company owns several blockchain gaming companies, including Gamee, The Sandbox, Grease Monkey, Games, Blowfish Studios, and others.

Earlier, Animoca Brands CEO Yat Siu said that the development of Web3 is a natural evolution of the Internet, which will only be strengthened by the bearish trend in the crypto market.
