To the delight of royal watchers: habemus le first royal wedding of 2024. Highly anticipated since the Sultan's official announcement last October, the happy event takes center stage Anisha Rosnah Isa Kalebic, betrothed to Prince Abdul Mateen of Brunei. Imagine the anxious anticipation with which we waited for every single detail of this royal wedding to be revealed: the celebrations in the state of Brunei in south-east Asia began on January 7, with the promise of lasting ten days. Promise kept, with a change-and-swap of (almost) wedding dresses that has practically delighted us in the last twenty-four hours.
The first royal wedding of the year will be held in a few days, but the future (and very discreet) princess of Brunei is already giving us a sophisticated and chic look, which leaves us very hopeful about what her wedding dress will be. Or, rather, her wedding dresses
The climax of the celebrations falls on today's date, January 11th: the princess Anisha Rosnah and Prince Abdul they will officially become husband and wife. AND while waiting for the wedding dress to be revealed to the world directly from the mosque of Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien (we have in store all the amazement and wonder that can be used to prostrate oneself in a sumptuously unique dress), from the State of Brunei they arrive the details of the first three looks of Anisha Rosnah Isa Kalebic.
Twenty-four hours from Brunei's royal wedding, Anisha Rosnah wore the first look for the wedding preview event. It's about a very elegant traditional dress reinterpreted in a modern key, the so-called baju kurung: white in color with silver trim, it was made with tenunan, woven fabric from Brunei, embellished with a trimming of very fine embroidery on the edges. Finally, the look was completed with the traditional veil.

The fashion house responsible for this look is called Teh Firdaus, founded by the homonymous designer of Malaysian origins. «I am honored to have this role in Brunei's royal wedding», announced the designer on Instagram who – according to ad Harper's Bazaar Malaysia – she had the opportunity to meet and become friends with the princess last June, when she created the look that Anisha Rosnah wore for the announcement of her engagement with Prince Abdul. «I still can't believe I met her – she says. – The person who made the appointment hadn't even told me who he was. I was immensely surprised to find her when I visited Brunei last year. Anyway, I am extremely grateful to have met her, she is a very beautiful and charming person. Anisha and Prince Mateen for me are really meant to be together.”

There is no shortage of details in this first look. «It took a month to make – reveals the stylist at the source. – We waited for the fabric kain tenunan from Brunei, a wonderful lace with gold and silver threads, arrived. Anisha requested a minimal, clean-lined dress, so we created this baju kurung simple and elegant to emphasize the beauty of the fabric. From a design point of view, it left us maximum freedom. And there were no dress rehearsals before this one.”
Is called Berbedak Mandi, and it is the traditional ceremony in which the respective families bless the spouses, wishing them health, luck and fertility. Anisha Rosnah's dress was a show of pomp and opulence, in turn designed by the Teh Firdaus fashion house: «This was the first look I designed for her wedding – says the stylist again. – She purchased French lace in London and expressed her love for pearls. The only request he expressed to me was to insert micro-pearls along the entire length baju kurung: it took three months to make it.”
