Anitta announces release date for the album “Funk Generation”

Last Thursday (21), Anita announced the release date of his newest album titled “Funk Generation” .

The album hits digital platforms on the day April 26 marking the Brazilian's debut on the Republic Records label.

The announcement even came in sync with the single “Double Team”, in partnership with Brray and Bad Gyal.

According to Anitta, the album celebrates her own roots. “It is in each track that I express the power of Rio funk, its unique, danceable and sensual beats. A rhythm that emerged in the favelas, where I was raised, and exudes resistance and art in each community,” she says.

“I'm very proud to be able to do work about a genre that has already been tried to criminalize in Brazil and that is slowly gaining ground around the world”, adds the singer.

Partnership with Sam Smith confirmed

After all the controversy, the new album also arrives with the partnership between Anitta and Sam Smith, who will perform at Lollapalooza Brasil 2024.
