Anitta enters Billboard’s list of top songs from LGBT+ culture

Singer Anitta was the only Brazilian to be on a Billboard list that brings together the 70 songs that most defined queer culture in the world released on Thursday (6).

The voice of “Envolver” and “Bellakeo” reached 28th place in the ranking with “Boys Don’t Cry”, a song from the album “Versions Of Me”, released in January 2022. The North American magazine highlights that the lyrics of the song says that women don’t need men’s love.

Anitta sang “Boys Don’t Cry” with Miley Cyrus during the North American singer’s show at Lollapalooza Brasil in 2022. The carioca appears fronting classic anthems from the LGBT+ community, such as “f I Could Turn Back Time”, by Cher ; “Freedom! ’90”, by George Michael; “Got to Be Real” by Cheryl Lynn; “All the Lovers”, by Kylie Minogue; “I Want to Break Free”, by Queen; “Dancing Queen” by ABBA and “It’s Raining Men” by The Weather Girls.

The song has 40 million views on YouTube and more than 95 million plays on Spotify.
