Anitta was elected the most innovative musical artist of 2022 at the Innovators Awards, an award promoted by the Wall Street Journal, in New York, in the United States. She launched this year in the North American market “Versions of Me”, highlighted by the publication.
“With this year’s release of her trilingual album ‘Versions of Me’ and hit single ‘Envolver’, Anitta has invaded the American market, expanding her reach far beyond her native Brazil and translating her multicultural music around the world. ”, highlighted the publication, which told the whole story of the funkeira carioca with a photo shoot of the singer.
“I can’t believe I’m being recognized alongside these other amazing artists and pioneers. Thanks to my brother J Balvin. I’m so honored that you came tonight. I am in awe of your talent and your generosity. You are one of my biggest inspirations and for you to wrap up a big tour and being here means the world to me,” the artist said in a post on her Instagram profile, where she also shared photos from the awards show.
“When I started as a teenager, singing Brazilian funk around Rio, I could never have imagined being at the Museum of Modern Art in New York with all of you. I hope that young women in my country and around the world can see themselves victorious in life. To be called the most innovative musician is a great honor, because that’s what we all fight for, yes? To innovate and inspire, I am very happy to be recognized by all of you”, completed Anitta in the post.
