The singer Anitta released this Friday (5) the music video for the hit “Cat ” and was also announced as one of the attractions of the Video Music Awards 2022 (VMA) one of the main entertainment awards.
“Gata” is a partnership with Puerto Rican Chencho Corleone and is featured on the album “Versions of Me”, released in April this year.
“I had a lot of fun shooting the music video for ‘Cat ‘. I know this has been a fan favorite since the album came out, so releasing this clip has a special flavor,” Anitta said in a statement.
The video brings the singer in scenes full of sensuality, with the costume using pieces of leather and dark tones.
This is the first of three music videos that the singer will release this month.
The direction of “Gata” is a collaboration between Anitta and Giovanni Bianco, creative director responsible for music videos such as “Bang” and “Girl From Rio”, as well as works with Madonna.
“The video has a darker and more sensual vibe, I loved incorporating this feline and powerful woman character. The Anitta of this universe is totally fearless, determined and self-confident, almost a superheroine”, said the artist.
THE MTV revealed on Twitter that the singer will be one of the attractions to perform at the VMAs, held in New Jersey, United States, on August 28.
The announcement also says that the awards will feature performances by artists such as J Balvin, Marshmello, Khalid and Panic! At The Disco.

The Brazilian won her first VMA nomination. The award announced the nominees on Tuesday (26) through its website and social media.
The nomination was earned through the viral hit “To involve “, which earned Anitta a record in the Guinness world records, for having reached the Spotify global Top 1 on March 24 of this year – being recognized as “the first solo Latin artist to reach the first place on Spotify”.
