Anitta responds to criticisms about prohibition funk: “When it’s a man, it’s very cool”

Anita, 31 countered, this Friday (26), the criticism he received for speaking swear words in songs of the prohibition funk genre “Funk Generation” her sixth studio album.

The song in question is “Savage Funk”, the ninth song on the album, which has the Rio singer and DJ GBR as two of its authors. “F*ck like hell, you son of a bitch”, say the lyrics of the song in its first verse.

The voice of “Envolver” and “Vai Malandra” defended her choices saying that songs like these, when sung by men, are praised.

“Everyone f*cks like hell, everyone has sex. When these lyrics are sung by men, no one says anything. There are even worse funk things that are popular. When it’s a man, everything is really cool”, said Anitta.

The singer also said that she was advised to change the lyrics of “Savage Funk”, which appears with an explicit music warning on music platforms, but she was unable to find anything that surpassed the version that was released.

“I fell in love with the beat. People even said to change the lyrics, we tried, but nothing was as cool, nothing was as fun and exciting as these lyrics are. We leave it at that, what is important is the desire to dance”, declared the Brazilian.

“I don’t care, at this point in the championship I just want to have fun.”

Release of “Funk Generation”

“Funk Generation” is now available on all music platforms. The album finally hits the market after a long wait for fans and a sequence of postponements caused by various factors, such as the release of “Cowboy Carter”, by Beyoncé, and the cancellation of the video for her collaboration with Sam Smith.

The song with the Brit is on the album, as well as the already released “Mil Veces”, “Grip”, “Double Team” (with Brray and Bad Gyal), “Joga Pra Lua” (with Dennis and Pedro Sampaio) and “Funk Rave.”

“Funk Generation” marks Anitta’s debut on Republic Records, a Universal Music label, after a complicated breakup with Warner.
