The singer Anitta declared, in an interview with Billboard, about the process to get space outside Brazil and stated that she “started from scratch” in the international industry.

“In Brazil, I started 12 years ago, but in the United States, I feel like it’s a new career that started ‘from scratch’”.

She pointed out how surprised she was to be nominated for the 2023 Grammy Awards as Breakthrough Artist and said that the last Brazilian artist to be nominated was singer-songwriter Tom Jobim, whose song “Garota de Ipanema” served as inspiration for “Girl from Rio”. , single from Anitta’s last album, “Versions of Me”.

The singer also revealed that she is working on her new album and it will be “totally funk”.
