In addition to being nominated for “Funk Rave” in the Best Latin Video category, funk artist Anitta will perform at MTV’s Video Music Awards (VMAs) on September 12th.
She announced her participation through her Twitter account.

According to the “Billboard” website, Anitta joins Doja Cat, Lil Wayne, Kelsea Ballerini and TOMORROW X TOGETHER as attractions at the awards.
This year, Anitta will present a medley of songs from her new EP “Funk Generation: A Favela Love Story”. According to “Billboard”, she will also join the K-pop group TOMORROW X TOGETHER, making an unprecedented combination of genres according to MTV.
Anitta also posted another video announcing her participation to the sound of “Funk Rave”.

This is not the first time that the singer has participated in the awards. Last year, she performed with a medley that included “Envolver”, “Bola Rebola” and “Vai Malandra”.
She was also the first Brazilian to win an MTV Moon Person, award trophy, in the Best Latin Artist category.

Grammy 2023

Anitta not only participated in the award, but also competed for the revelation in music award at the 65th edition of the Grammy ceremony, the main award in the music industry. “After 50 years, Brazil is at the Grammys”, said the singer in her post.
Participation in the series “Elite”

At the beginning of the year, Anitta was confirmed in the seventh season of “Elite”, a teen series on Netflix. This will be the Brazilian star’s international debut in the world of series.
Met Gala

The singer was featured at the MET Gala 2023, wearing an exclusive Marc Jacobs look at the event – which was themed “A Line Of Beauty”, in honor of German fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld.
UEFA Champions League Final
Anitta performed at the opening show of the 2022-23 Champions League final at the Atatürk stadium in Istanbul, Turkey. The Brazilian singer, who wore an outfit with the name Vini Jr. on the back, brought funk from Rio to the presentation and sang a new song: “Funk Rave”, a partnership with DJ Gabriel do Borel.
Global Citizen Festival
Anitta was also announced as one of the attractions at the festival promoted by Global Citizen, an activism platform that seeks to draw attention to causes such as the environment and extreme poverty in the world.
She is due to perform in front of an audience of 60,000 people in Central Park, in New York, on September 23rd.
