Anita 31, released “Funk Generation” in the early hours of this Friday (26), an album that features “Ahi”, collaboration with Sam Smith , as one of the songs. The news positively surprised fans, as the Brazilian singer announced, in February, that Sam Smith had canceled the release of the song.
“This interview was given last month. He canceled the launch. We had to reschedule the album release plan and as soon as we have the date you will know. It won't take long, everything else is already ready. I love you”, wrote the voice of “Envolver” at the time.
“Ahi” is the 14th song on the album, which features 15 tracks in Portuguese, English and Spanish . The song has the British singer and Anitta as composers; The production is by the Norwegians Stargate, responsible for hits such as “Rude Boy” and “Don't Stop The Music”, by Rihanna, and “Beautiful Liar”, by Shakira with Beyoncé.
Anitta stated this Friday, in a conversation with the press, that she intends to include more details of Rio culture in the clips for “Aceita”, which will feature many references to Candomblé (her religion), and “Ahi”, which was recorded during the Beija-Flor de Nilópolis procession in the 2023 Carnival Champions Parade.
“The video for 'Aceita' will have a lot to do with the Candomblé thing, there are also samba schools in the video for 'Ahi', if I manage to release it”, stated the singer, indicating that the clip could be released soon.
She explained that she was concerned about exposing in the clip, not only the dancers, but also presenting other traditional elements, such as the old guard.
“I always try to put a style of culture that is deeper, that, if the person wants and is interested, they will be able to delve into much deeper layers. I use visuals a lot to do this,” she said.
