Anna Paquin, from “X-Men”, reveals she is facing health problems: “Difficult period”

The actress Anna Paquin is battling health problems that have left her with mobility and speech difficulties. In a recent interview with the magazine Peopleshe admitted that she had a “difficult” period over the last two years due to health issues.

The star of “True Blood ” and known for the role of Rogue in the saga “X-Men ” was seen using a cane on the red carpet for her new film “A Bit of Light” last Wednesday (3). She said that she has been fighting an illness – which she did not reveal – for two years.

“It hasn’t been easy,” she told People.

Anna has not revealed the nature of her health condition, but a source told the magazine that she is hopeful of a full recovery.

However, despite the problems, the actress declared that she feels grateful to continue working.

“My first love was independent cinema. That's how I got into the film industry. I was working with people who were completely dedicated to telling stories with integrity and truth,” she told People.

In her new film – directed by Moyer – Anna plays an alcoholic mother who loses custody of her children. “Not everyone ends up having the journey with motherhood that they expected or planned,” she said of the role.

“We are all flawed and imperfect, and [meu personagem] Ella is in some ways repeating some familiar patterns of repressing feelings,” he continued. “It's very real because there are so many ways people sabotage themselves or learn to deal with trauma,” she concluded.

Anna Paquin was one of the youngest actresses to win an Oscar. She received the award in the Best Supporting Actress category in 1994 for the film “The Piano”.

“A Bit of Light” does not yet have an official name or release date in Brazil.
