Anne Hathaway and Jared Leto Tell Story of WeWork’s Rise and Fall

The rise and fall of the shared office company WeWork has been turned into a television series featuring Anne Hathaway and Jared Letoboth winners of the Oscaras protagonists.

“WeCrashed,” an eight-episode miniseries about WeWork founders Rebekah and Adam Neumann, will begin airing on Apple TV+ this Friday. The show details the couple’s love story, their successes and mistakes.

In 2019, when WeWork tried to launch a public offering of shares with Adam Neumann as chief executive, the proposed stock sale imploded after investors were shaken by the company’s heavy losses, Neumann’s management style and problems at the company. WeWork’s corporate governance.

Leto took on the role of Adam Neumann, an Israeli businessman, after filming “Casa Gucci,” a film about the famous Italian fashion family, and said the transition was a challenge.

“Great characters, and very, very different characters,” he said. “Starting with the accents. There was a lot to learn.”

Part of that learning process was a secret meeting with Adam Neumann that took place unbeknownst to the filmmakers, where Leto offered the entrepreneur advice.

“I told him, ‘don’t ever watch it’… First of all, he’s already lived, why go through that again?”

Hathaway portrays Rebekah Neumann and says she was careful not to judge her.

“We’re talking about human beings, and putting ourselves in a position of superiority doesn’t make sense,” she said. “This is an opportunity to understand people.”

Both Leto and Hathaway said they wanted the story to be fair.
