Ten more grain cargo ships are set to depart from Ukrainian Black Sea ports as part of the food export agreement, the country’s Infrastructure Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov announced on Friday.
“Ten ships are currently being loaded and are preparing to depart from the ports of Odessa, Chornomorsk and Pivdeni,” Kubrakov said on Facebook.
As he noted, 25 ships have already departed from the three Ukrainian ports carrying 630,000 tons of agricultural products abroad.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, who visited Odesa on Friday, said much needed to be done to ensure full global access to Ukrainian food products and Russian food and fertilizers following the food export agreement brokered by UN.
Ukraine’s agriculture ministry said on Friday that the country’s grain exports are down 51.6 percent from last year, falling to 2.99 million tons so far in 2022/23.
