Another Greek citizen from Afghanistan returned to Athens

There is another Greek citizen in Athens who worked at Afghanistan.

Panagiotis Koumoutsakos, who worked for NATO, returned to our country from London on Saturday night.

In a statement after arriving at the airport, he thanked the government and the Foreign Ministry for mobilizing immediately, as well as the embassies in Islamabad and London.

“I thank the Greek government for its ability to move some threads that had to move immediately “, he said.

He was released by Britain, following consultations between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries, following relevant instructions by Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias, diplomatic sources said. The Greek embassy in London was in constant contact with him and provided him with all possible assistance, according to the same sources.

“This is pure civil war and I do not want to say more than respect for the people who are still fighting. What you see on the channels is half of what happens. “, said characteristically Mr. Koumoutsakos. “The situation is very difficult, it is purely warlike”, he added.

Another Greek citizen arrived in Qatar, having been released from the USA. He is expected to arrive in Chania tomorrow around 18:00 via Athens. The Greek embassy in Doha provides him with consular assistance.
