Another scarce flagship. All Redmi K40 and K40 Pro are already sold out

The head of Redmi, Lu Weibing, warned users in advance about a possible shortage of Redmi K40 smartphones and asked for a pre-order in order to be guaranteed to get your smartphone at the start of sales. It turned out he was right.

Another scarce flagship. All Redmi K40 and K40 Pro are already sold out

One of the users of the social network Weibo turned to the head of Redmi directly with the question – what to do if a huge queue lined up on Redmi K40 in online stores? Should you buy the Redmi K40 Pro? To which the top manager replied that the Redmi K40 Pro is also sold out.

How could this happen, since the official sales of new products will start only on March 4? The point is most likely the ratio of the volume of stocks of smartphones and pre-orders. Only Redmi can compare this data and, apparently, the volume of pre-orders has already exceeded the number of Redmi K40 and K40 Pro produced. This is also indicated by another report by Liu Weibing. On February 26, he, along with Zeng Xuezhong, President of the Xiaomi Group’s Mobile Devices Department, announced that he would “turn the cogs” and would do his best to provide a decent stock of Redmi K40. History already knows several cases when even the head of Xiaomi Lei Jun personally went to factories to collect smartphones with high demand. Now, apparently, just such a case.

Of course, top managers will not twist any screws in reality – with these words they just want to assure that they will make every effort to ensure that everyone can buy a smartphone for themselves. However, the global shortage of chips leaves its mark on the industry, and now it is not so easy to increase production as, say, several years ago. And the scarcity of Redmi K40 in China does not bode well for global sales of new Redmi flagships.
