The reflection of Petrobras’ price adjustment announced last week effectively reached the consumer. According to the weekly price survey by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas, and Biofuels, all fuels showed an increase in the average price in the country, compared to the previous week. Cooking gas, regular gasoline and diesel were the three that showed the biggest increases.
According to the ANP, the average price of diesel, commonly used in buses, vans, and trucks, showed an increase of 14.4% in the average price of a liter from one week to another. In the current week, the value of a liter was registered at R$ 6.65, compared to R$ 5.81 verified in last week’s survey.
The second largest percentage increase was found in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), or cooking gas, with an increase of 9.8% in the average price of a 13Kg cylinder. This week, fuel reached R$ 112.54, when last week, this price was R$ 102.42. That is, an increase of R$ 10.12 in just one week.
In third place, regular gasoline had a percentage increase of 8.6% in the average price of a liter. In the current week, the ANP price survey found fuel at R$ 7.26, compared to R$ 6.68 recorded in the previous week.
Ethanol, derived from corn and sugar cane in Brazil, had the fourth largest increase in the bulletin, up 6.25%. The price of a liter was R$ 4.93, while in the previous week, the average value was R$ 4.64. Natural Gas Vehicles (CNG) showed the smallest increase, with a 1.2% increase. The average price in the country was BRL 4.74, compared to BRL 4.68 last week.
Petrobras readjustment
Last week, Petrobras readjusted the price of cooking gas, diesel and gasoline in state-owned refineries, for distributors. According to the company’s statement, after 57 days without adjustments, gasoline rose 18%, and diesel 25%. As for cooking gas, the input went from R$3.86 to R$4.48 per kg, equivalent to R$58.21 per 13kg, reflecting an average adjustment of R$0.62 per kg.
