The National Supplementary Health Agency (ANS) presented a list of health plans that will have their sale temporarily suspended due to complaints related to assistance coverage.
In this cycle, ANS determined the suspension of 31 plans from nine operators due to complaints made in the 1st quarter of 2023. The ban on sales begins to take effect next Friday (23).
According to the agency, the measure is part of the Service Guarantee Monitoring, which regularly monitors the performance of the sector and acts to protect consumers.
“A total of 407,637 beneficiaries are protected by the measure, since these plans can only be sold to new customers if operators present an improvement in monitoring results”, said Alexandre Fioranelli, director of Norms and Product Qualification at ANS.
Between January 1st and March 31st of this year, 43,660 complaints were received.
In addition to the suspensions, the regulatory agency also released the list of plans that may be sold again. In this cycle, fifteen plans from seven operators will have their sale cleared by the Service Guarantee Monitoring.
Sought, the Brazilian Association of Health Plans (Abramge) did not return the request for positioning this Monday morning (19). The space remains open for manifestation.
