The National Supplementary Health Agency (ANS) decided to temporarily suspend, this Monday (27), the sale of 70 health plans from eight operators in the face of complaints made in the 1st quarter. The ban takes effect from June 30.
According to the ANS, 1.45 million beneficiaries of these plans are protected with the measure, as these plans can only be marketed to new customers again if the operators show an improvement in the monitoring result.
To decide on the suspension, the regulatory body took into account more than 37,000 complaints that were registered from January 1 this year to March 31.
Among the operators with suspended plans are Amil, Santo André, Esmale, Saúde Brasil, Biovida, Unimed Norte/Nordeste and Unimed-Rio.
The complete list of suspended plans is available at official note from ANS.
