After MasterChef, the four Michelin Stars – two at Villa Crespi, on Lake Orta, two more between the bistros of Turin and Novara – Antonino Cannavacciuolo also launches into the world of hôtellerie. With his wife Cinzia Primatesta, who has always been the manager of the group that bears his name, and the daughter of two hoteliers, has just announced the opening of a collection of three hotels: LAQUA Resorts.
I’m LAQUA by the Lake a Pettenasco, always on the shores of Lake Orta (Novara), LAQUA Countryside a Ticciano (Vico Equense, Naples) on the hills of the Sorrento Coast and, not far away, LAQUA by the Sea in Meta di Sorrento: three completely different structures, but all close to the water, the sea or the lake (in the gallery above the first photos and the first renderings).
THE HOUSE ON THE LAKE
LAQUA by the Lake, designed by the Primatesta Architecture Studio, it is the largest and most complex: conceived just like a refined lake house, it is an exclusive and sustainable residence, with 16 apartments and 2 panoramic penthouses. They are characterized by an interior design that recalls all the colors of the nature that surrounds them, for their large terraces and comforts that make the getaways very satisfying, such as the jacuzzi with a view of the penthouses. The structure guarantees the independence of a home (also because all the apartments have a fully equipped kitchen), but with the comforts of a hotel since there will be a concierge and services dedicated to guests: a Spa that will offer cutting-edge treatments, a fitness area, spaces to try oriental disciplines such as yoga, an elegant Beach Club (which will also be open to outsiders). It will be the heart of the structure, and it will rise around one large infinity pool on the lake water. Yes, it will also be possible to taste Cannavacciuolo’s cuisine: for LAQUA by the Lake it is already developing special dishes, linked to the ingredients and traditions of the lake, which will be served in a bistro. All this starting in July (with reservations open in May).
THE COUNTRY HOUSE
It will open in July (with reservations, again, open in May) too LAQUA Countryside of Ticciano. For Cannavacciuolo it will be a homecoming: it is the place where he was born and also the mid-19th century building where LAQUA Countryside stands is the same where his grandfather was the guardian and that his father then bought hoping that his son would open a restaurant. It took a little longer than expected, but that’s what it will do: in LAQUA Countryside Cannavacciuolo will open its first restaurant in Campania. He will make a kitchen that will mix the ingredients of Piedmont, his adopted land, with those of his homeland, with raw materials supplied by local producers and cultivated in the vegetable garden and in the orchard that his father now takes care of. In the same structure, built by the architect Luca Macrì flanked by Valentina Autiero, there will be six rooms that tell as many stories, from the one dedicated to the Grandmother to the Handyman’s room and, in addition to an outdoor swimming pool heated in winter, there will be a wellness area.
THE HOUSE BY THE SEA
It is the result of a restyling instead, LAQUA by the sea in Meta di Sorrento: it will reopen at the end of April, after a renovation of the Charme & Boutique Laqua, also by Antonino Cannavacciuolo and Cinza Primatesta. The six rooms that follow the philosophy of Feng Shui with private terrace and infinity whirlpool tubs, have been revised to ensure even more comfort and even more privacy, for a perfect stay that is completed in LAQUA by the sea. a wellness area with a wet path where you can try cutting-edge treatments.
