THE CNN Specialist Antonio Batista da Silva Junior spoke about the leaders of the so-called “C Level”, who are at the top of companies, such as CEOs and presidents.
A survey by Fundação Dom Cabral shows that most CEOs have worked for at least 20 years in three different companies. They have degrees in business administration, engineering and a solid educational background.
“This research also shows that we need to advance on the issue of diversity. The vast majority of CEOs are men,” says the expert. At the beginning of their careers, in smaller positions, women are on an equal footing in numbers, but as they progress, only 10% reach the position of CEO.
Batista questions the meaning of occupying this chair, “in addition to professional prominence and good remuneration”.
For him, today’s leaders cannot only be concerned with generating profit, but also with impacting the community as a whole.
“You need to expand your influence beyond the company’s walls. The leaders of the 21st century will be less slaves of results and more agents of progress.”
