ANTT reduces road freight table by up to 4% after diesel drop

The National Land Transport Agency (ANTT) published in the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU) this Tuesday (23) a new table with minimum prices for road freight, with an average reduction ranging from 3.16% to 4%.

The negative readjustment in the values occurs after Petrobras announced the retraction of the price of diesel in two moments this month. The last one took place on the 11th, when there was a reduction of 4% (or R$ 0.22 per litre) in the company’s refineries.

According to the law, whenever there is an oscillation in the price of diesel oil in the domestic market of more than 5%, upwards or downwards, ANTT must publish new values.

The National Policy on Minimum Floors for Road Cargo Transport was instituted in 2018 by the Michel Temer government, after a national strike by truck drivers that paralyzed the country’s supply.

For table A – road freight transport capacity – the average reduction was 3.16%. In the case of operations in which only the cargo vehicle is contracted (table B), there was an average negative adjustment of 3.51%.

In table C, for high-performance road freight transport, the average retraction was 3.67%.

Finally, for operations in which only the high-performance cargo vehicle (D) is contracted, the average reduction was 4%.
